From 1 October 2025 to 30 October 2025, Welwyn Garden City hosted the Knife Angel. The 27ft sculpture is made of over 100,000 knives that have been confiscated by the UK’s 43 police forces.

The knife angel was designed and created by Alfie Bradley at the British Ironwork Centre. It is widely recognised as a national monument that was created to highlight the negative effects of violence and aggression.

Paul Harris, Assistant Director of Operations, said:

“Krinkels UK is proud to play a small part in providing the backdrop for this powerful national monument. Crafted from over 100,000 surrendered blades, the Knife Angel stands as a poignant reminder of the impact of knife crime and a symbol of hope for safer communities.

We want to recognise and thank the organisers who worked so hard to bring this important installation to the town. Their efforts mean that residents and visitors alike can engage with its message of awareness, education, and change.

Set within the beautifully maintained grounds of Welwyn Garden City through October, the sculpture has been given the space it deserves. Our team at Krinkels UK takes great pride in ensuring the landscape provides a respectful, peaceful, and accessible setting for reflection.

We encourage everyone to visit, take in the sculpture, and join the conversation around creating a safer future for all.”
