Our approach

We’ve been in the industry for a long time. Our staff are very highly trained and have a deep understanding of the environment they are working in. But the world is changing. Priorities, customers, and the environment can shift unexpectedly. We are mindful of this and plan accordingly, but one thing we try to keep constant is our commitment to promoting biodiversity, and ensuring measurable and inclusive outcomes remain at the forefront of our minds.

A key objective of ours is to deliver high quality, customer focussed services. Communicating openly allows us to plan and agree to deliver services that are to best practice standards for the management of green spaces, and the variety of ecosystems that can be found within them.

Always improving

It goes without saying that we aim to deliver high-quality standards of maintenance across the board for our clients. That is a key principle of our business and service offering. But we are always learning. We’re always looking to improve.

When starting our operations, we approach each site with biodiversity in mind. When thinking about improving or promoting biodiversity, we look at diversifying the type of habitats and vegetation, varying mowing schemes, including introducing “no mow may”, and also prioritising the planting of native trees and shrubs. There are lots of things we can do to help, and that is why we talk openly with our customers and discuss new and innovative ways to protect and enhance nature.

Biodiversity and us

We believe that every green space, no matter how big or small, has the potential to become an incredible habitat for wildlife. Whether we’re managing a local park, roadside verge, or urban estate, we see each space as part of a wider ecosystem. It’s our job to ensure that the work we do has as little impact on nature as possible.

In delivering our services we are mindful that the seeds we plant, the trees we care for, and every habitat we restore contributes to healthier, more diverse landscapes, improving local spaces for people and wildlife alike.

Conservation Programmes

We take a careful, science-based approach to land management. Our teams are trained to recognise the ecological value of every site and to work with nature, not against it.

Our focus is on non-chemical, low-impact methods wherever possible. Before any job, we will carry out site-specific risk assessments and ecological evaluations to ensure that we take the right approach for the local environment. This means balancing safety, efficiency, accessibility and aesthetics against biodiversity, ensuring we get it right for everyone.

Together for Nature

Our company-wide biodiversity strategy, Together for Nature, helps shape everything we do.

Together for Nature guides us

It guides how we protect, conserve and enhance green spaces, ensuring that our operations contribute to thriving local ecosystems.

For every contract we manage, our teams develop a tailored action plan that identifies opportunities to protect habitats, create pollinator corridors and increase native planting. These plans are built around measurable improvements and aligned with your sustainability goals.

Practical steps for creating a living landscape

Across the UK, we’re delivering biodiversity improvements through everyday actions:

• Creating wildflower meadows and pollinator-friendly planting schemes
• Reducing mowing frequencies to allow habitats to regenerate naturally
• Protecting veteran and heritage trees as vital biodiversity assets
• Managing waterways and wetlands to encourage healthy aquatic ecosystems
• Supporting local conservation initiatives and community rewilding projects

Each of these steps helps create connected, resilient ecosystems that support birds, insects, mammals and plant species.
